FAQ

How do I display Props on our TVs?

As long as you can display a browser on your TV, you can show Props! Chrome is best. You can use our handy Chrome App. If you don’t want to use Chrome, we provide you we a URL you can enter into any browser.

If you can’t currently show a browser, you will need some type of hardware. Great options are the Chromebit or Chromebox.

If you are wondering, “Could I use XYZ?” Probably. Can it show a browser? If yes, it will work.

What if we are currently displaying something on our TVs we want to keep?

No worries! Props has a simple interface to control all your TVs. You can customize each TV to rotate between different sources.

Have a dashboard you want to show? Just enter the URL in our Web Page app and enter how often you want to see it.

Have a company announcement? Easy. Upload a 1920 x 1080 image(s) to our Image App and tell us how often you want to show it.

Our apps allow you to easily connect services like GitHub, GitLab, Zendesk, PagerDuty, Salesforce, Twitter, and Instagram.

Props, what is it good for?

Props broadcasts your culture to your TVs. It’s great for connecting your team and reinforcing your culture.

What can we give props to?

You can give props to anything your team values – whether it’s great work or personal life events. It’s up to you!

Things we often see propped:

  • Great work.
  • Marriage enagements.
  • Progress updates.
  • Team wins.
  • Births.
  • Customer reviews.
  • Announcements.
  • Sales.
  • Birthdays.
  • Product releases.
  • Work anniversaries.
  • Images.
  • GIFs.

Does this work with distributed teams?

Yes. Props provides a daily email highlights digest. It’s a great way to keep the team aware.

We even have team members of distributed teams set up their home TVs to show Props while working.

How important are the TVs?

Great question! The product functions great without the TVs; however, you’ll get 6x more engagement with the TVs. Plus, you then get to see everyone’s GIFs.

What services can you push to our TVs?

Honestly, almost anything.

We currently have these apps ready for you – GitHub, GitLab, Zendesk, PagerDuty, Salesforce, Twitter, Instagram, Web Page Display, Image Display, and Weather.

You can even build your own app.
